March is already almost over, and it feels like it just barely got here. It was a great month for gamers, though, with many new titles that were released, getting the spring season off to a good start. To me it’s the best month so far when it comes to games being released. So without any further introductions let’s go ahead and take a look at what we think are the top 5 games of March 2016.

#5- Hitman

Agent 47 is back in an all-new adventure in his first” Episode” of the game, which to me will be one of it’s strongest features is new content monthly. I know Halo 5: Guardians has adopted that model and it’s been bringing me back every month just for that alone. Now, this might be a step up even from that as the next content will be missions and not just armor, so it will give players a stronger reason to come back each month.

#4- The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD

Zelda-HD

Zelda’s HD remake of Twilight Princess was released to very positive reviews, bringing players back to the ten-year-old game. The additional Amiibo features add new experiences and functions to the game. Many people consider this to be one of the best games in the series and that makes this a must have for collectors. It will be interesting to see what other Zelda games might get the HD treatment.

#3- Mortal Kombat XL

Mortal Kombat X was released just under a year ago after a very successful rebooting of the franchise back in 2011. Being the first game of the series released on the latest consoles, now it’s been re-released with all the DLC characters adding that much replay value to the game for those that either didn’t buy the characters and for those who are buying the game for the first time. And for those of you Mortal Kombat fans that can’t get enough, there is a comic book series that takes place in between the last game to this one for you to check out.

#2- Pokken Tournament

When Pokken Tournament was first announced, I was skeptical, but this was actually a solid game with a Pokemon experience that we’ve never had before, playing as the fighting Pokemon instead of just instructing them on what moves to use. And it’s a lot of fun, with all the diverse Pokemon to choose from, and the addicting gameplay. I expect to see more from this new game over the years as I predict that it’s here to stay.

#1- Tom Clancy’s The Division

original

Of course, Tom Clancy’s The Division takes the top spot in March as this has become many players’ (myself included) latest addiction. A lot of people are calling it the new Destiny. And while they have many similarities, they also have many things to differentiate them from one another that make up this game’s strengths. And with the new “Raid” game type known as Incursions, it will be interesting to see this new end game content that they’re giving to gamers for free. Then in June we can expect their first paid expansion “Underground”, and then we will see if it’s going to go the way of Destiny or forge another path.

And that’s our top 5 games from March! What do you think of our list? Do you think The Division was the number one game for this month? Anything you’d add or remove from this list? Please let us know what your top 5 would be by posting it in the comments below! All I’m going to say is that April will have to be spectacular to beat March’s great titles. Until next time, Game On!
