Perfect World Entertainment, parent company to Cryptic Studios has today announced that the massively multiplayer online roleplaying game, Star Trek Online will be making its way to the current generation consoles later this year. As this game is already pretty old, players will be greeted to more than six years of content as soon as they get going.

The huge free-roam game features around 130 episodes, as well as two expansion packs and 11 seasons, all to be added and available immediately on consoles. These will all be built around the more classic Star Trek stories and series, with a huge cast of the program such as Michael Dorn (Worf), Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine), Tim Russ (Tuvok) and many others.

Customise your very own ship.

The voyage will commence once you choose your allegiance to either the Klingon, Federation or Romulan faction – soon after giving you the option to choose between 32 different species, with in depth customisation of your Captain with genuinely millions of available options. The game will take you all around the universe to special locations we all know and love such as Vulcan, Deep Space Nine, Earth Space Dock and many, many more as well as being able to get hands on and board a long list of classic vessels.

The game boasts a brilliant space combat system using your ship as well as following the huge content the story has to offer and with a level cap of 60 there is a lot to do on your perilous journey to the top. Best part about it? It’s all free. Cryptic Studios has also made a number of different updates to the game specifically for the updated generation of console gaming, such as visual enhancements and the experience for the user being overhauled to work with the controller.

The game is set to hit Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in the fall of 2016. However we’d like to hear from you! Are you excited to get back into one of the most popular MMORPGs that the PC has to offer on console? Are there any you think would be better to see? I’d personally love to be able to get back into Star Wars: The Old Republic – maybe we’ll see that soon too! Let us know down in the comments below!
