PS4 PS+ Games vs Xbox One Games with Gold Comparison Shows Xbox One in the Lead for Value

gameswithgold

An age-old comparison; Xbox Games with Gold vs. PlayStation Instant Game Collection. Games with Gold has only been around since June 2013 whereas the service has been offered on PlayStation since 2010. For a long time, PlayStation Plus was the clear winner with the PS3 days being the golden age for the service. With the launch of the PS4 and Xbox One, the offerings were noticeably weaker due to a small library of games but 2016 has been a good year for both services so far so we ask the question: which service comes out on top between January and now. For the purpose of this comparison, we will be comparing the offerings that are playable on the current gen consoles (Xbox One & PS4)

Conclusion

If you only game on your current gen system then there’s zero doubt that Games with Gold has been the better service so far in 2016. Games with Gold has offered $257.9 more in value for Xbox One owners than PS+ for PS4.There’s been a lot of anger over recent PS+ offerings and although some offerings (such as NBA 2k16 in June) do help negate this anger, it still persists as people demand better games from the service. We’ll keep this updated every month (once both lineups are announced) and at the end of the year we’ll be able to declare a winner for 2016.

August update: The numbers have been calculated and I can confirm Xbox One Games with Gold has increased its leads and now offers $337.89 more value than PS+ in 2016 so far.
