Sony’s Playstation Vita Might Have Been Cracked to Enable Homebrew

Sony’s PlayStation Vita is a far cry from the success of the PSP. I remember carrying that thing around with me everywhere I went and after a few months of owning the Vita, I never touched it again. Well, it’s been somewhere near 5 years since this thing came out and it seems modders might have finally cracked it.

A short video demonstrating what to expect when you test the upcoming HENkaku application. HENkaku is a homebrew enabler for the PlayStation vita. It always hobbyist developers to write their own games and applications to run on the vita.

HENkaku is the first ever homebrew enabler for PS Vita and PSTV. It is akin to jailbreaking your iPhone or rooting your Android device.
Homebrew are games and other software not officially approved. For example, VitaDoom is a port of the classic game DOOM and mGBA lets you play Game Boy Advance ROMs. You can find more examples in the showcase.

We will not be posting any tutorial in text form on this site but by all means, you are welcome to watch the video linked above.
