Sony have announced today that the price for PlayStation Plus will increase to $59.99 starting on September 22nd. As you can imagine the reaction around the internet has not been positive at all.
Here’s some reactions from Twitter
@PlayStation more money = better servers and more games, right??
— FeverGaming (@TheFeverGaming) August 22, 2016
@PlayStation That means better free games though right? RIGHT?

@PlayStation That`s sad. Very sad.

@PlayStation So… You’re raising the price of PS+?
Does that mean your servers will work better?

Some had a negative reaction, but a positive outlook if changes were made to the service.
@PlayStation stop with the $10 indie games for PSPlus, let us activate 2 PS4 consoles, and give us the option to change names.<—worth it

The reaction on Reddit isn’t too different either.
And finally the reaction on NeoGaf was also largely negative towards the price increase.
We haven’t shared our own thoughts on this subject yet, but we will be doing later today in an opinion article so make sure to check that out.
In the meantime let us know in the comments below what your thoughts on the PlayStation Plus price increase is.

Xbox live has been that price for awhile now so doesn’t really bother me much. They really should start allowing people to change their names though. That’s been needed for quite a long time. Some better ps plus games to compare to Games with Gold would be nice too.
But yeah, anyone who thought there was never going to be a price increase is silly. 😛

You can always find Xbox live on sale for like $35 for a full year though. I hardly ever see PS+ on special which is why I got rid of it.
