We’re getting closer and closer to the November 10th launch of the PlayStation 4 Pro and today we got some details about yet another game’s PS4 Pro Patch. Jonathan Blow has released the details of what the PS4 Pro will let him add to his game The Witness.
For starters with the next patch The Witness will support HDR both on the PS4 Pro and the base PS4. If you have a PS4 Pro and play on a 1080p TV then The Witness will render at 1080p and run at 60fps, 4x MSAA. For comparison on the regular PS4 the game runs at 900p, 60fps, 2x MSAA.
If you have a PS4 Pro and have a 4K TV then The Witness will give you the choice of 2 different modes to play. The first option will let you run at 1440p 3D scene, upscaled to 4K and the text and UI will be rendered at 4K, 60fps. The second option will let you run the game with 4K rendering for everything but only 30fps. It’s up to each player to decide what they would prefer and it’s great that he included the option.
The Witness is one of the highest rated games of 2016 and it’s great to see it will look and run even better on PS4 Pro whether you have a 4K TV or not. There is no date yet for the patch but the team hopes to have it out sometime in November. Let us know in the comments if you’re excited to play The Witness on PS4 Pro.
