After beginning in 2015, Xbox One’s backwards compatibility feature has been one of the most praised features of the console. It’s only been around 14 months since the feature officially launched, and it’s already boasting 300 Xbox 360 games which can be played on Xbox One. There’s still many games which are highly requested, and according to the Xbox User Voice forums here are the top 10 most requested Xbox 360 games that Xbox One players want to play on their Xbox One.
#1 – Call Of Duty: Black Ops II – 206,607 votes
#2 – The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – 172,076 votes
#3 – Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – 165,217 votes
#4 – Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 – 116,590 votes
#5 – Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare – 113,526 votes
#6 – Grand Theft Auto IV – 86,2017 votes
#7 – Batman Arkham City – 74,112 votes
#8 – Grand Theft Auto San Andreas – 70,716 votes
#9 – Assassin’s Creed III – 62,531 votes
#10 – Battlefield 3 – 57,809 votes
Call Of Duty dominates the top 10 with 4 games wanted from the series. Due to the voting starting in 2015, it includes a lot of popular titles that have since had remasters on the Xbox One. This doesn’t mean it won’t happen in the future, as the Bioshock trilogy was made backwards compatible 3 months after the remastered trilogy released. It does seem unlikely however for the three games in this list to be made backwards compatible anytime soon so here’s the next three, non remastered titles that are next in the rankings.
Far Cry 3 – 45,005 votes
Assassin’s Creed Rogue – 43,196 votes
Batman Arkham Origins – 42,620 votes
All three games here are extremely good choices for backwards compatibility, especially Assassin’s Creed Rogue and Batman Arkham Origins as the two titles were released when people were selling their last generation consoles for the new generation consoles (Xbox One and PS4)
The top 10 games mentioned here (Take the remastered titles away and add the next three) are all huge titles for the service, and it’s obvious Microsoft is spreading these out to keep the gamers coming back for more backwards compatibility along with the surprise factor and anticipation. Looking at the list beyond these titles, there’s still some major titles after that also. Saints Row The Third, L.A Noire, Dead Space 3, Mafia 2, Fable Anniversary, Hitman Absolution, and Max Payne 3 are all big titles with a lot of votes too (25,000-42,000) so there’s plenty of big titles to spread out this year along with the lesser requested titles.
Hopefully 2017 is an even bigger year for Backwards Compatibility on Xbox One, and by the end of 2017, we hope that most or if possible all of these titles in the list are on the service.
