Destiny’s Final Event: Age of Triumph

Destiny is a game with a lot of ups and downs as it evolved over the last three years. And for those still playing Bungie is about to launch their final event: Age of Triumph. Now if the name sounds familiar then you might be thinking of Moments of Triumph from Year 1 and 2 of Destiny, where you played and completed specific tasks to overcome the hardest obstacles of that year. This is it for Year 3.

During their announcement, Bungie also stated that the gear you’ve been collecting won’t follow you into the sequel which is the opposite of how they had advertised the franchise prior to launch. Here’s what will follow you into the sequel later this year as described by the developer:

“We know that, just like us, you have grown fond of the Guardians you’ve created, so we do plan to preserve your character personalization. We are going to recognize the dedication and passion you’ve shown for this world. Specifically, the class, race, gender, face, hair, and marking selections for all characters that have achieved Level 20 and completed the Black Garden story mission will carry forward. We also plan to award those veteran accounts with honors that reflect your Destiny 1 accomplishments. ”

This is something that while at first, I wasn’t too happy about but finally came around to the idea of a fresh start. But for veteran players like myself, I can only hope that Bungie properly rewards us to show our dedication.

Now, onto the livestream event that was shown today. They showed off a glimpse of the event that will go live on the 28th of this month. They’re bringing back the old raids with new challenges and rewards at the current light level. Speaking of the light level, they are keeping the cap at 400.

Most of the livestream showed off the new record book for the Age of Triumph. There are several pages and unlike the last two years Moments of Triumph, you don’t have to hit each goal, but rather level up to a 7 (max in the book), which they said is roughly completing 3/4 of the goals. And yes for you hardcore fans, if you complete it, you will get an opportunity to get yourself a shirt just like last year.

There are two more livestreams that Bungie will do to show off the event, and we will keep you updated on it right here. So until then, Keep Gaming Guardians!
