Grand Theft Auto Online Just Had It’s Biggest Quarter Ever

One thing that continues to amaze me is how well Grand Theft Auto V continues to sell even after being on the market for almost four years now. One reason for that is the Grand Theft Auto Online mode and we just learned from Take-Two that it just had it’s biggest quarter yet.

It the earning report today for the first quarter of fiscal year 2018 Grand Theft Auto Online was the single largest contributer recurrent consumer spending for Take-Two. It helped to take sales for the quarter up 28 percent to $348.3 million. Out of that $326.2 million came from sales of already released titles like Grand Theft Auto V and of course NBA 2K17.

In terms of monthly users June and July were the two biggest months yet for GTA Online which is just crazy for a four year old game. It’s really not too surprising though as Rockstar continues to support GTA Online with new updates pretty regularly.
