Japanese Sales Charts: Monster Hunter: World and PS4 Continue Their Reign

monster hunter world

The weekly Japanese video game sales charts are in for both hardware and software and some things just haven’t changed. For the fourth week in a row Monster Hunter: World is the top seller as it moved another 85,000 copies on the PS4 this past week. That brings the retail total to around 1.9 million on PS4 and if you include the 652,000 digital sales number that we recently learned of the game is close to selling 3 million copies. I don’t think I need to tell you but that is a staggering number for a console game in Japan in this time.

A few other games made their debut this week such as the Secret of Mana remake that placed second on PS4 with 36,000 copies sold and seventh on the PS Vita with around 18,000 sold. On the hardware side the PS4 continues to be the top selling platform in Japan for the sixth straight week having moved another 49,000 units this week when PS4 and PS4 Pro sales are combined.

You can view the full hardware and software sales charts below.
