One of the most anticipated games of 2018 finally has a set date. Insomniac Games, Sony, and Marvel Studios have announced that Marvel’s Spider-Man will be swinging to the PlayStation 4 exclusively on September 7.
They also revealed the pretty sweet box art for the game as well as a few different editions that players will be able to choose from when they pick up the game. The standard edition will of course retail for $59.99 and you can see that box art below.
Then for those digital buyers out there you can pick up the Digital Deluxe Edition for $79.99 which includes the game, The City That Never Sleep’s DLC and a physical bonus pin that will be mailed to you.
For those who like some extra physical goodies there is also a Collector’s Edition available now for $149.99. This includes the game in a special Steelbook case, a mini artbook from Titan Books, The City That Never Sleeps digital content and a Spider-Man Statue from Gentle Giant which for now is only being partially shown. The base of the statue is being kept secret until a later date.
For those wondering about The City That Never Sleeps content included in some of these editions think of it almost like a Season Pass. It will consist of three packs each of which will introduce new missions, new characters, and new villains. All of this content will be released by March 2019.
Additionally anyone who pre-orders any edition of the game will get a PSN avatar, and PS4 theme, a pack of three exclusive costumes of which only one is being revealed so far, early access to the Spider Drone gadget and 5 extra skill points to use in game. You can watch the new pre-order trailer below for your first look at one of the three pre-order costumes.
I personally will be picking up the Collector’s Edition since I’m a HUGE Spider-Man fan. Let us know how excited you are for Spider-Man PS4 in the comments below.
