The WB Games countdown has ended and as expected it was leading to IO Interactive announcing Hitman 2 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game will launch on those platforms on November 13 this year.
Hitman 2 is a direct sequel to 2016’s Hitman game and as such the story will pick up directly where it ended with Agent 47 closing in onthe mysterious Shadow Client. The game will no longer be episodic and will instead launch as a complete product at both retail and digitally for $59.99. Don’t worry though as the game will receive plenty of post-launch content including new areas, missions, Elusive Targets and more.
The new game will take Agent 47 all across the world from “sun-drenched streets to dark and dangerous rain forests.” In the announcement trailer we see one new location set in Miami on the final day of the Global Innovation Race. As we’ve come to expect from the last game, there are loads of detail everywhere and your goal is to take down a father-daughter duo known as Sierra and Robert Knox. One of them you’ll be able to find in the nearby trade show while the other is taking part in the actual race. The trailer of course shows off many of the awesome new ways you can go about your hit so give it a watch.
The game also has a new standalone mode called Sniper Assassin which you can play in online co-op. One player will take control of Agent 47 while the other can pick between new characters Stone and Knight. Each of these characters has their own unique things such as story and weapons. If you want to play this mode solo that is an option too. Even better is if you pre-order the game you get immediate access to this mode to play now.
Let us know if you’re excited for Hitman 2.
