The weekly retail sales charts for the UK region are in and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has started out very well.
Nintendo’s newest entry in the long running franchise not only took the No.1 spot in its debut week but also is now the fastest selling Nintendo Switch game released to date. It is also the fastest selling Smash Bros game in franchise history in the UK. Sales were up 302% compared to Super Smash Bros on Wii U and 233% higher than Super Smash Bros. on 3DS.
FIFA 19 which has been at the No.1 spot for several weeks fell to No.3 this week while Red Dead Redemption 2 remained at No.2.
We did have another new release this week and that was Square Enix’s Just Cause 4. It came in at No.6 this week but sales were down 61% compared to Just Cause 3’s launch sales. It’s also the slowest selling Just Cause game yet although we don’t know how it did digitally.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds also released on the PlayStation 4 this past week and saw sales increase by 321% moving it up to No.22 in the charts. You can see the full top 10 for the week below.
