UK Weekly Retail Video Game Sales Chart: 1.3 Million Games Sold During Black Friday Week

Call of Duty Modern Warfare

The UK weekly retail video game sales chart for last week is in and it was a big one given that it was Black Friday week.

In total there were 1.3 million games sold at retail last week in the UK. Compared to 2018, that is 22% lower but it’s worth keeping in mind that holiday 2018 had bigger titles than 2019 had such as Red Dead Redemption II. PlayStation 4 sold the most software with almost 500,000 games sold on Sony’s platform. Xbox One was second with a little over 400,000 and Nintendo Switch was third with around 360,000 games sold.

The best selling game of the week was FIFA 20 which was bundled with the PS4 which no doubt further helped it. In fact most of the top ten games were included in console bundles such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare which was No.2 and bundled with the PS4. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was once again No.3 and was bundled with the Xbox One. Sea of Thieves and Minecraft were No.4 and No.5 and both were bundled with Xbox Ones. You can see the full top ten below.
