Microsoft Says Developers can go Well Beyond the Raw Power of Xbox Series X

During their recent Inside Xbox live stream, Microsoft key members shared more details on the technology inside the Xbox Series X. Team Xbox Series X’s Director of Program Management Jason Ronald gave an insight into what these new features mean for developers.

Jason Ronald is quoted as saying:

Variable rate shading is really about delivering new levels of performance and efficiency to developers so that they can go well beyond the raw power of the [Xbox Series X] as they can be more precise about where they choose to spend graphics power in different parts of the scene without reducing the overall visual quality.

The video also featured a letter from Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer:

The future of gaming has never been more inspiring. Creativity in games is flourishing. New services empower you to discover more games—and bring you closer to the games and creators and streamers you love. The cloud creates a massive opportunity to stream console-quality games and play with the people you want, wherever you want. And for many of us, nothing is more inspiring than the dawn of a new console generation.
