The weekly UK retail video game sales chart for last week is in and we have a few new releases atop the chart.
The first of those is Marvel’s Avengers from Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics. It took the No.1 spot for the week and managed to sell 2% more boxed copies than Shadow of the Tomb Raider did. However, it failed to come anywhere close to selling as much as the last big Marvel game, Marvel’s Spider-Man. Compared to it, Marvel’s Avengers sold less than a third of what that game did in the first week. Considering that game was only on PlayStation 4 and this was on multiple systems that isn’t a good look. It’s always worth mentioning though that digital sales aren’t included in this.
The next big new release game was Activision’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 which took the No.2 spot. Sales for it were 448% higher than those of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 which released back in 2015. There was a lot of work and care put into this new remake so it’s great to see people showing interest in it.
The last big new release for the week was NBA 2K21 which took the No.3 spot in the chart. Sales for it were down 37% at retail when compared to NBA 2K20. The rest of the top ten consists of games that have been making appearances there such as Animal Crossing and Ghost of Tsushima. You can see that full list below.
