5 Next Gen Games You Must Get At Launch

Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is the most anticipated title this holiday season, and perhaps even of this entire year. Incidentally, Cyberpunk 2077 was the first game to be revealed for next-gen consoles back in 2012. Now, we see it launching after the new consoles come out, but it is still launching for PS4 and Xbox One.

Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure story set in Night City, a megalopolis obsessed with power, glamour and body modification. You play as V, a mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to immortality. You can customize your character’s cyberware, skillset and playstyle, and explore a vast city where the choices you make shape the story and the world around you. And there’s a cool bonus with Cyberpunk, and everyone loves bonuses. Just like this no deposit casino bonuses nz but with Cyberpunk, this bonus is having free next gen versions if you own the PS4 or Xbox One versions!

Godfall

Godfall earned its place in gaming history when it was the first game officially announced for Sony’s upcoming PS5. Godfall is a brand-new, next-gen looter-slasher, set in a bright fantasy universe filled with heroic knights and arcane magic. Embark on adventure in a fantasy action RPG that utilizes high-impact third-person melee combat to engage players as they hunt for loot, don legendary armour sets and defeat vicious enemies. Face challenging missions that reward you with head-turning loot as you vanquish the armies that stand against you.

Spider-Man Miles Morales

Insomniac Games bringing Marvel’s Spider-Man to the PlayStation 4 as an exclusive, was a major coup. The friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is known worldwide as one of the most popular Marvel characters so getting the exclusive rights was an undeniably gigantic deal. This was made clear in the sales data; a year after its release it was announced the game had sold over 13 million copies and it’s since been revealed it was Sony’s best-selling exclusive in the US.

Obviously, due to this sales success, Sony and Insomniac Games are currently working on a sequel. However, that’s still a little way away yet. For now, fans will be getting the Miles Morales spin-off whilst we all have to wait for the sequel. There’s some confusion surrounding whether this is DLC or a full game, but it has been confirmed that Spider-Man Miles Morales has its own story and is a stand-alone experience set in the same world.

Insomniac Games have also confirmed a lot of technical improvements coming to the game thanks to the new powerful PS5 hardware. The new game will show-off near-instant loading, ray-tracing, 3D audio, and the DualSense controller. Additionally, 4D scans, improved skin shading, and spline-based hair make for more realistic looking characters, and many of the city’s assets have been updated to take advantage of the new console.

The Medium

The Medium is a console exclusive coming to Xbox Series X. In The Medium, you will play as a medium living in two different worlds: the real one and the spirit one. According to the game’s synopsis, you will travel to an abandoned communist resort and use your unique psychic abilities to uncover its deeply disturbing secrets, solve dual-reality puzzles, survive encounters with sinister spirits, and explore two realities at the same time.

The Medium is coming from the talented Bloober Team, who are well-known in the horror genre for their previous projects such as Layers of Fear (and its sequel), Observer, and Blair Witch. Piotr Babieno, CEO of Bloober Team, came out and said that The Medium is the studio’s “most ambitious game ever.” If you get a Silent Hill vibe from The Medium, that’s probably because the soundtrack is composed by Akira Yamaoka: the legendary composer of the Silent Hill series.

DIRT 5

With no new Forza announced to be coming out this launch window, racing fans will have to rely on DiRT 5 instead. Though, that might not be as bad as it sounds. DIRT 5 looks amazing from what we’ve seen so far. It looks like DIRT 5 is borrowing from the Forza Horizon series but fusing these elements with some classic DIRT DNA. DIRT 5 is a playful, dynamic, amplified off-road racing experience.

DIRT 5 is the boldest off-road racing experience created by Codemasters. The game will see you blaze a trail on routes across the world, covering gravel, ice, snow and sand. Further, DIRT 5’s campaign has a narrative that stars Nolan North and Troy Baker. Troy and Nolan play the protagonist’s mentor and rival respectively. Securing industry legends like these surely shows confidence in an ambitious campaign.
