5 Reasons Why You Should Be Hyped About The New Fallout Announcement!

It’s time guys, it’s finally here! I lost my mind when I was shown the twitter post from Bethesda, complete with countdown timer and a message all Fallout fans will be all too glad to see… “Please Stand By”. So now we need to turn our attention to exactly what we want, what we expect and what we are most hyped about from the next instalment of our dearly beloved post-apocalyptic heaven! This article is going to cover 5 reasons why you should be hyped for the fallout announcement.

1. It’s Been A Long Wait For Fallout Fans.

It really has been a long while since Bethesda themselves graced our consoles/PC’s with a Fallout game. The reason I say since Bethesda brought us a Fallout is because Fallout: New Vegas, although published by Bethesda, was actually developed by the creators of the original Fallout games, Obsidian. They used their engine, but make no mistake, it wasn’t a Bethesda-made game! Either way, we’ve had a different style of Fallout, a new (and groundbreaking) Elder Scrolls entry and a new generation of consoles! It’s been 6 long years, and there will still be a bit of a wait but at least we’re going to have solid evidence that the game exists!

2. A Truly Next Gen Experience.

We have seen a couple of real next gen experiences so far with these new consoles, games like Bloodborne and The Witcher 3 are masterpieces in their own right, but a lot of the games that have come about since the start of gen 8 have had last gen ports. This means we sacrifice graphical fidelity and scale of a game, just so developers can push it to as many consoles and make as much money as possible. This will most definitely not be the case with this game. Fallout and The Elder Scrolls are Bethesda’s pride and joy, and we can count on the devs to give us the experience we want, without being held back by last gen!

3. A Possible Look At A New Engine With Gameplay.

A philosophy Bethesda has always kept is that they don’t reveal games until they can knock our socks off! I fully expect there to be some snippet of gameplay at the reveal tomorrow, even if it’s just some in-engine cutscenes. With that being said, I’ll still be the first person to tell you not to expect anything, or expect very little that way you won’t be disappointed. Just to put it into perspective, the new engine Fallout will be running on is a variant of the Skyrim engine, and we all remember how much the devs managed to squeeze out of that engine from last gen… We’re in for a treat.

4. First look At The Concept Of The Game.

It seems like another base Fallout game is on the horizon, although we can’t rule out the possibility that this is some sort of spin-off from the series with a different timeline (possibly pre-war?) or something else entirely. I don’t think any of us saw an Elder Scrolls MMO coming a few years ago, yet here we are with one settled on the PC and mere days away from launch on the consoles. Would Bethesda throw their hat into the MMO genre again with Fallout? It’s unlikely, but definitely something to be mindful of!

5. We Can Finally Put Damaging Rumours About The Game To Bed.

I’m sure all of you Fallout fans remember back in December 2013, the survivor2299 website that spawned up and had us questioning whether this was it. Some members of our community even took it upon themselves to track the IP of the website to find out which provider was used and what country it originated in. We later found this out to be one in a string of painful and damaging hoaxes. These pranks and tricks had us on a rollercoaster, waiting for the drop and I’m sure that is the very first thing you all thought of when you saw that tweet from Bethesda and the website. We don’t want to be hurt again, and I’m sure Bethesda are going to make us happy that we stuck around!

So there it is, now all we can do is wait. Tomorrow at 4pm GMT, 10am Central. Be there, you won’t want to miss it! Let us know in the comments what you are most hyped about?

Have your say!

  1. have you read the rumours about the game being a cross gen game…? if it is surely it would put your second point into question..?

    • I was JUST thinking that exact same thing. I read that cross gen thing too, which is really surprising.

It really is time they dropped last gen, I mean last gen was great, but it’s been around 18 months since current gen consoles released, it’s about time we see what the consoles are truly capable of when they’re not being held back

      • well our fears can be put to rest!!!! NEXT GEN ONLY BROO!!!! :DDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
