Why You Should Own An Xbox One In 2015

A couple of weeks ago we saw Microsoft’s E3 event, which brought a lot of food to the table. If you watched the event, it’s no secret that we have a lot to expect from Microsoft for the Xbox One in 2015. The event introduced several new titles for the popular system that are sure to be a hit when we finally see them. If you decide to buy a single gaming system this year, it should be the Xbox One. It is the standout gaming system that has and will be bringing a lot of content to its dedicated gamers.

The Xbox One Now Has Backwards Compatibility

Ever wish that you could play your old Xbox 360 games on your next-generation Xbox One system? Well, now you can! With a new update that was revealed at this year’s E3, Microsoft has officially elected to allow backwards compatibility for the Xbox One. Finally, after two years of this system’s release, we can play hit Xbox 360 games on the modern system. Games like Left for Dead, The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, and all of your old Call of Duty games, are now 100% playable on the Xbox One. If you’re new to Xbox, that’s all the more reason to buy this system! You can now have the modern system while being able to go back to older and cheaper games, or play the newer ones for the modern system if you choose to do so.

We Have A Lot Of New Games To Look Forward To In 2015

We saw a look at Rise of the Tomb Raider at E3 2014, but this year we got to see some actual gameplay footage; and boy, does it look amazing! For those of us who have played through the previous installments of the game, Rise of the Tomb Raider is sure to be a hit game that you just can’t miss. Take a look at some of the footage below:

The gameplay is nothing short of breath-taking. The game will release November 10, 2015. This game is sure to be a lot of fun, especially for people who have been with the Tomb Raider series from the start. This game alone could be the reason you might want to start thinking about investing in an Xbox One.

Bethesda also showed off Fallout 4 at E3 a couple weeks ago. According to Bethesda, Fallout 4 is “basically done”, and it is expected to see a 2015 release. A great addition to this game is its open world and an apocalyptic world that feels more intense than ever. Another great addition to this game appears to be some form of substantial crafting and customization. As stated by Studio Director Todd Howard, “The real goal of this game is to give players as much freedom as possible.” We see this with a new customization feature – you can now customize your character in the game and even pick its sex. Many think that after 4 installments of a game like this, material would become very repetitive. However, Bethesda might please the fans with a new epic story, as the prologue appears to occur in a time before the nuclear disaster that causes the apocalypse. This game is sure to be a hit! And, if you’re new to the Fallout series, you can catch up on all the older games with the new backwards compatibility feature.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is yet another game to look forward to for the Xbox One in 2015. Specifically, it will be released September 1 or this year. For the first time, we will be seeing a Metal Gear game in an open-world setting. On foot alone, it is predicted that it would take the player almost 45 minutes  all the way across the map. This game looks massive, and with a massive world comes a wide variety of things to do. With such a vast world, it can be pretty annoying to get everywhere on foot. Luckily, the creators added in a feature where you can ride a horse at your leisure by the simple blow of a whistle. Another thing about this game that looks great is the day/night cycles. What part of the day you are at impacts where certain enemies will appear, if at all. You can also pass time in this game very quickly by a mind-altering substance – your Phantom Cigar. Clearly, the creators of this game really incorporated a lot of new features for the upcoming game, and everyone is stoked about playing it.

Looking Beyond 2015 – What Does The Xbox One’s Future Look Like?

We’ve already covered why you should own an Xbox One in 2015, but the system will have a lifespan that will exceed the latter half of this year. In 2016, we have many new games to look forward to, such as Mass Effect: Andromeda, Gears of War 4, and Quantum Break. It’ll sure be hard for some of us to be patient, but in the mean time, we have hit games to look forward to that are coming this fall; and if you don’t have an Xbox One yet, this gives you some time to start saving up! Out of all modern systems we have today, the Xbox One definitely has the brightest future. It stands proudly on top of hit games that have already come out and its empire will continue to build with new releases that we are all excited for. 2016 will be the year of the Xbox One, and nothing can stand in Microsoft’s way.

Have your say!
