After Activision recently signed on board with Microsoft to allow their Xbox 360 titles to be backwards compatible it only left one real big AAA publisher to allow backwards compatibility. So far EA, Activision, SEGA, Deep Silver, 2K, Square Enix, Ubisoft, and Bethesda, along with others are allowing their games to be backwards compatible for the Xbox One.
Rockstar Games have currently not agreed with Microsoft to allow their games to be backwards compatible for the Xbox One. This means such games won’t be possible to play on Xbox One as of yet.
- Red Dead Redemption
- L.A Noire
- Max Payne 3
- GTA San Andreas HD
- GTA IV
Those are huge games that many would like to see added to the list of backwards compatible games on Xbox One. It will be interesting to see within the next few months if we hear any news on Rockstars stance on backwards compatibility for Xbox One, and why they are currently the only real major publisher not supporting it. Who knows? We could get news from out of nowhere that a Rockstar video game will be backwards compatible similar to how Activision games were announced out of nowhere recently.
Will Rockstar Games change their minds? Or will they never allow their Xbox 360 released games on the Xbox One? Let us know your thoughts on this in the comments section below.
