Nintendo has had a rough past few years with their consoles and handhelds. The WiiU was a success and a failure at the same time. Most consumers were confused about the WiiU thinking it was an add-on for the Wii. Most parents purchased their children an Xbox or Playstation instead of the brand new Nintendo console due to the confusion. So Nintendo needs to step up their game in 2016 and push to release the NX so they can make sales and impress gamers.
Nintendo is srill afloat because of the fantastic first party games that they release every so often, but third party titles is where they’re lacking. The Nintendo NX promises to have more support for third party developers, and no i’m not talking about shovelware. This can make or break the new system. If they decide to release it in 2016 there is a chance that it will start to sell units quickly. Us as gamers have been let down by the WiiU most of the time and need something new and successful to enjoy our games on.
I currently do not own a WiiU because of the price and the small support for the system as a whole. The Nintendo community still thrives but not as much as it used to. I feel like there is a small hole in my gaming life that needs to be filled by a great Nintendo system once again. Hopefully the NX will fill in that hole that I miss greatly. The new system promises many new features that can be compared to the current gaming systems that dominate the market.
Some of these new features include: Being both a home and handheld console, won’t run android, and the new Zelda could release for it. Unfortunately Nintendo said the console will not be ready for a 2015 release but that could mean a 2016 release! That’s what we are looking for. The year of 2016 will be a great year for gaming but the NX must release to make it a fantastic year.
In conclusion, Nintendo is pushing every day to finish the NX and plan a release for it. It must release in 2016 to be successful so it can compete with other leading consoles and handhelds in the market. We are all hoping for a fantastic console/handheld that will run our favorite games and future releases buttery smooth. Hopefully it isn’t as big of a failure as the WiiU.
