I can’t wait until Xbox officially announces which games will be made backward compatible from the Xbox 360. There’re so many titles that they can choose from, and so many of them that I want to see get added. But as I try to contain my excitement, let’s go ahead and talk about some of the biggest games that have been rumored way or another, that can potentially be added this month.
Alan Wake-
When Alan Wake came out, it got rave reviews for its storytelling and addicting gameplay. In the game, you play as best-selling novelist Alan Wake, and you’re trying to unravel the mystery of his wife’s disappearance while on vacation in the small town of Bright Falls, Washington. And while seeking out clues about his wife, things start coming to life from his latest novel that he doesn’t even remember writing. The game was awarded the top spot in Time magazine’s list of the top 10 video games of 2010.
BioShock Infinite-
BioShock was one of the biggest series to come out during the Xbox 360 Era. In this game which is set in 1912 and you play as Booker DeWitt, who goes to the floating city of Columbia to find a woman named, Elizabeth, who has been a captive there for the majority of her life. When BioShock Infinite was released back in 2013 it was met with critical acclaim, receiving many high score reviews including some perfect scores. It’s been considered by some to be even better than the original game in the series.
Call of Duty: Blacks Ops-
Call of Duty: Black Ops is a sequel to 2008’s Call of Duty: World at War. Set in the 1960’s during the Cold War, it features “Black Ops” missions behind enemy lines. One thing that stood out in this game is the use of historical figures such as John F. Kennedy as well some others. When the game came out in 2010 it crushed the record for largest entertainment launch. It’s arguably one of the most popular games for the Xbox 360.
Left 4 Dead 2-
Left 4 Dead is a series that has always had me wondering when are we ever going to receive the third one? Both were extremely popular, and the most recent game from the franchise Left 4 Dead 2 was released back in 2009. Coming up on it’s the seventh anniversary of the sequel, it makes me wonder if they’re going to make a third one on the newer consoles and what some of the possibilities are for the franchise should it ever come back from the dead.
Red Dead Redemption-
Not enough can be said about Rockstar Games Red Dead Redemption, the game is fantastic. I know that this is a title I’d throw in my Xbox One the first day it’s available for Xbox One. It’s easily the best western game out there to me. There’s so much you can do in this game, plus the DLC for the game even pits you against a zombie outbreak. If this game get’s added to the Xbox One, the only thing that would make it better is if all the rumors about a sequel are true.
If I could’ve added more to this list I would’ve as there’re so many games that I really want to dust off and play on my Xbox One. But I was focusing on games that have been rumored or all but confirmed. What other games do you think Microsoft should add to their ever growing list of backward compatible games? Would you be happy if these games are added this month? Please let us know in the comments below!
