Console players have patiently awaited the release of mods for the console versions of Fallout 4 and it seems the wait is almost over for Xbox One players as mods come to the Xbox One in May.
The news was released on the official bethesda site here
The statement reads:
For console players, Mods will be coming to Xbox One in May and PlayStation 4 in June. We have a lot to do yet, but we hope it changes console gaming the way it has changed PC.
In an interview with Microsoft’s Major Nelson, Hines says that the company wants to “do it in a way that’s easy.” He goes on to say:
“This is not about, ‘You have to have a PC,’ ‘You have to do it yourself.’ The idea is you go to play the game, there’s a menu option, you click on it, and there’s a bunch of stuff for you to download. And you click on the stuff that you want and you start playing a game with these new mods. So we want it to be a really streamlined, fun experience. There’s still specifics that we have to work out. It’s part of our post-launch plan.”
More recently, Hines said that the “idea is that you could do it all from within game menu.”
The developers clearly has some things to work out but it sounds like it’s going to try and make modding as easy as possible across all three platforms, especially for the console users out there.
