Rockstar May Have Hinted At Red Dead Redemption 2 And Remaster

While nearly everyone has been convinced that Red Dead Redemption would be unveiled at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), there has been little to no evidence providing us with what we all wanted to hear.

However, recently a map was leaked with an assumption that it was of the follow up game – of course, it could have very easily been faked. However earlier today an image was posted which was more presumed screenshots of either a remastered original or another fake.

What is this an image of exactly?

Can you tell what the image is of?

My initial assumptions that the image is of a hut in ‘Thieves Landing’, however according to the Reddit post, nobody can confirm if it’s in the original game and more so, it was taken from a GTAForums thread where an ex-Rockstar employee had issues with posting permissions.

Now, while this is somewhat more convincing than the map, it’s very little to go on – yet more little hints seemed to unintentionally come from Rockstar’s website, where they listed two pages linking to games that came back as 404 errors according to a Reddit post, and these websites suggested 2 new Red Dead Redemption titles with the number format they used. The pages have since been removed, so if you wanted to go and find them you won’t.

And where a remaster is possible, it could also be some sort of Virtual Reality spin-off, taking Rockstar Games and Take-Two down another path. However, yesterday CEO John Riccitiello made comments regarding VR headsets that could have come off more negative:

There is no market for a $2,000 entertainment device that requires you to dedicate a room to the activity. I don’t know what people could be thinking. Maybe some of the people in this room have a room to dedicate to an entertainment activity, but back here in the real world? That’s not what we have in America.

While we still don’t have a lot of information regarding the game, this is something to be happy about if you’re a fan of the series – but as all rumours go, this should stay as speculation.

What are your thoughts on the matter? Do you think Rockstar have accidentally leaked the game we’ve all been waiting for? Maybe this will be one of the biggest E3 announcements if it is to be one! We’d love to hear from you!

Have your say!
