Sega celebrated the 25th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog in a big way by announcing that a new 2D Sonic game called Sonic Mania will launch in Spring 2017 and revealing first footage of the Sonic pack for Lego Dimensions. However the final surprise was the new trailer for what it called Project Sonic at the time being. The Sonic Team is working on Project Sonic and it will launch on the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo NX in Holiday 2017. Check out the trailer below.
While the trailer is light on actual game footage it looks like we could be seeing another game much like Sonic Generations. It’s also nice to see one of the first NX games being announced even though we still have no details on the console.
While 3D Sonic games haven’t been great I will remain cautiously optimistic about whatever Project Sonic turns out to be. Are you excited for Project Sonic? Tell us in the comments below.
