Late last month, it was noticed by an eagle-eyed Redditor that Kingdom Hearts 3 for the Xbox One had been delisted on the Xbox One Japanese store, at least, the page was seemingly removed. However, reports now show that the page is back online and it looks like Kingdom Hearts 3 is still on course to release on the Xbox One in Japan, despite rumours circulating that the page removal was some hint at PS4 exclusivity in the region.
The rumour surfaced not long after the page was initially removed a couple of days ago. After all, Microsoft’s Xbox One has never had that much success at all in Japan so it meant some theorised that the game had been cancelled in that region for the Xbox One. Further, some publications even went as far as to speculate that Kingdom Hearts 3 could be going full exclusive on PS4, similar to a Rise of the Tomb Raider deal but the resurfacing of the Japanese listing looks to cast doubt on those rumours.
Kingdom Hearts III is an upcoming action role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It is the eleventh instalment in the Kingdom Hearts series sequel to Kingdom Hearts II, and the final chapter in the Dark Seeker saga. Set after the events of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, returning protagonist Sora is joined by Donald Duck, Goofy, King Mickey and Riku in their search for the seven guardians of light and the “Key to Return Hearts” as they attempt to thwart Master Xehanort’s plan to bring about a second Keyblade War. Their journey has them cross paths with characters and visits worlds, based on Disney properties and Final Fantasy.
