Xbox One S Storms The UK Market As Xbox Hardware Sales Rocket 1000%; PS4 Slim Not Selling Well

The Xbox One S only launched to market last month but it appears it’s already having quite an impressive effect for Xbox sales. MCVUK report that UK Xbox hardware sales have gone up 1000% since the release of the Xbox One S model. In their report, they identify that the release of the firm’s new slim 500GB and 1TB SKUs saw Xbox One sales rise 989 per cent week-on-week.

The Xbox One had a 71 per cent share of the hardware market for the week ending September 24th, according to GfK data obtained by MCV. That’s an increase of 76 per cent year-on-year.

A new slimmed-down PS4 arrived earlier this month, but sales have so far been slow. PlayStation 4 had a market share of just 19 per cent last week, with unit sales declining 66 per cent year-on-year, although sales were up 22 per cent week-on-week. When the launch weeks for PS4 Slim and the 500GB/1TB Xbox One S are compared, Microsoft’s were stronger to the tune of 361 per cent.

Wow, that’s pretty impressive for Microsoft’s Xbox One S and it’s quite a turnaround in the UK video games territory.

  1. No surprised Sony shot themselves in the foot in my opinion, peoples are waiting for the Pro and VR,Slim model is a failure, Sony’s greed priced the Slim model out of being for the casual gamer, they should have price it below XB1S for $249.99. The One S is exactly how a Slim model should be done: it’s Sexy as Barker and features an awesome gimmick with being the cheapest UHD BluRay player. it offers a lot of bang for the buck. Sony needs to give gamers choices next time.
