If you’ve looked around the past few weeks for a PlayStation 4 then chances are you’ve seen some fantastic deals. Well it turns out that those deals have had success as today Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that they have now sold 50 Million PS4’s to consumers worldwide. This is a sold number not shipped which is a bigger deal. This means that Sony likely had a huge November thanks to the deals on the PS4 Slim and the launch of the PS4 Pro. Sony also announced that this Black Friday was their biggest yet for the console. You can read their statement below.
SAN MATEO, CA, December 7, 2016 – Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) today announced that PlayStation®4 (PS4™) has cumulatively sold through more than 50 million units*1 to consumers worldwide as of December 6, 2016, having enjoyed the best ever Black Friday week*2 in the history of PlayStation®. This includes the sales of PlayStation®4 Pro (PS4™Pro), a high-end system that supports cutting-edge imaging technology, which launched last month.
With a vast array of exciting software titles from 3rd party developers and publishers as well as from SIE Worldwide Studios (SIE WWS), PS4 software sales also remain strong, with more than 369.6 million copies*3 sold in retail stores globally and through digital downloads on PlayStation®Store as of December 4, 2016.

PS4’s software portfolio will continue to grow this holiday season and beyond with highly anticipated games including Resident Evil 7 biohazard (CAPCOM CO., LTD.), FINAL FANTASY XV (SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD.), Ryu Ga Gotoku 6 Inochi no Uta. (SEGA Games Co., Ltd.), The Last Guardian, Graity Rush 2, Horizon Zero Dawn, and PlayStation®VR games such as Here They Lie (SIE WWS). The independent development community will also continue to deliver a variety of innovative new titles for PS4 including Touhou Shinpiroku ～ Urban Legend in Limbo. The PS4 system is currently available in 122 countries and regions*5 worldwide.
In addition Sony announced today that in the US from December 11-24 the Uncharted 4 PS4 Slim bundle will be back down to $249. No doubt this will further drive great sales for them.
