Nintendo Switch Sold Out On Amazon Japan In Just 15 Minutes; Incredible Demand In Japan

It looks like Nintendo Switch is going to be a hot product in Japan as it didn’t take long for the Nintendo Switch to completely sell out on Amazon Japan. Amazon pre-orders went up at 9am in Japan, and it was gone in just 15 minutes. While demand has been great in Europe and America, it doesn’t come close to how popular Amazon pre-orders have been in Japan. In other countries the Switch didn’t sell out for at least 24 hours, with some sites still offering pre-orders including Nintendo store UK.

Many gamers in Japan are still looking to pre-order a Nintendo Switch for launch, which has caused the reselling market in Japan to explode with resellers in Japan already selling the console on Amazon for double the price of the retail price.

It’s not known when Japan or even Europe/America will get a second allocation of stock for beyond the launch day pre-orders but we will make sure to keep you updated on the stock of the console.

Have your say!

  1. Japanese gamers like little things for their little hands and little homes/apartments. This is no surprise.

  2. Nintendo always sells well in Japan. I’m still excited to get one for myself.
