Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Wii U Version Sold Out On Amazon; Could Be A Limited Release

Amazon UK has sold out of all their stock allocation for The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild, and they don’t know when it’s coming back into stock (listing here). It’s an extremely rare occurrence for a video game to sell out of pre-order stock on Amazon in the UK, and is only something you really see with new consoles and very popular/exclusive collectors editions.

It’s making us question whether the Wii U version will have a very limited release due to the game going out of stock, and obviously due to Nintendo wanting to push the Nintendo Switch version more and this is also going to be the last first party Wii U game. With Nintendo already being notorious for not manufacturing enough stock of their own products, it all kind of makes sense.

It’s possible it could become rare and quite the collectors item like the Gamecube version of Twilight Princess which was also the last first party title on the Gamecube.

Have your say!

  1. Huh. This has me wondering if I shouldn’t just go ahead and pre-order a Wii U copy, too…

    • if you’re in the US, good luck finding pre-orders, my GameStop is sold out of them!

      • I just checked GameStop.com. Seems like the Wii U version is still readily available for pre-order.
