PlayStation Plus May 2017 Predictions

PlayStation Plus over the past few months has been offering a better mix of AAA and indie games then we have seen in awhile. In February we got LittleBigPlanet 3 and Not A Hero on PS4 while in March we got Tearaway Unfolded and Disc Jam. April took a step back but still offered the brand new first party title Drawn to Death that has been getting some pretty positive buzz. As the April lineup has arrived it’s time to start thinking about what games we might see free on PS4 in next month’s lineup so here are our predictions.

1. Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition

darksiders 2

So this one just popped on to my possible upcoming PS+ games a few days ago for a reason. This past week PlayStation and THQ Nordic teamed up for a humble bundle and Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition is one of the games in that bundle. Now last September Capcom and Sony did the same thing and then the next month Resident Evil HD was in the PS+ lineup. I think the same thing could happen again here and we could see one of the THQ titles in the lineup in May.

2. God of War 3 Remastered

Another possible title we could see in May is the God of War 3 Remaster Sony released on PS4 a couple years ago. They have put a first party title in the PS4 plus lineup for three months in a row now this year and this could very well be the next one. E3 is coming up in June and we will most likely get our next look at the upcoming God of War for PS4 so including the best recent iteration in the Plus lineup is a good way to build hype.

3. Crypt of the Necrodancer

crypt of the necrodancer

Crypt of the Necrodancer is one of the more popular indie games released in 2016. It’s a hardcore rhythm roguelike game where you are probably going to die a lot. You’ll have to move to the beat to get through the procedurally generated dungeons all while fighting skeletons, zombies, dragons and other creatures. The game has a fantastic soundtrack as well. PlayStation Plus has a tendency to give away some of the more popular indie titles after some time. The time could be May for Crypt of the Necrodancer.

4. Thumper

Thumper

Thumper is one of my favorite games that came out in 2016 and I think it would be awesome to give more players the chance to experience it. Thumper is a rhythm action/violence game where you guid a space beetle through treacherous worlds as blazing speeds all accompanied by a great soundtrack and psychedelic visuals. Not only is Thumper great on the PS4 but it’s even better on PlayStation VR and fans have been asking for a free VR game on PS+ for months now. Giving away Thumper would please those fans while still giving those who don’t own a PSVR a game they could still play. Thumper has won many awards since it came out in October of 2016 so if you see this in the PS+ lineup next month don’t pass on it.

With that our predictions for what you might see on PlayStation Plus in May 2017 have come to an end. As always you may not see any of these but we guess Drawn to Death would be in the April lineup last month and ended up right about that. Let us know in the comments what you want to see on PlayStation Plus in May.

Have your say!
