If you’re a Halo fan then you’ll be glad to know that today we got some news on future updates for Halo 5, Halo Wars 2, and yes even Halo: The Master Chief Collection. During a livestream today 343 shared some important updates on these titles starting with Halo 5.
343 announced that in regards to LAN there should be less issues during small and big tournaments and little to no latency during tournaments. Some new content is on the way to the game as well including Oddball FFA that will be released on November 7th with the 4K update, New HCS skins from Str8 Rippin, Luminosity, and Splyce and Country Skins are coming as well with a few examples being North Amercia, UK, and Mexico.
Tuned Weapons are also coming to the game on November 7th and the Frag Grenade is getting nerfed and the Splinter Grenade initial damage is getting nerfed as well.
Halo Wars 2 wasn’t touched on much but it was said that Cross-Play is coming so that Xbox One and Windows 10 players will be able to play together.
The biggest news however came in regards to Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The game still hasn’t worked properly since launch and many fans had just given up on hopes of it ever being fixed. Well 343 and Bonnie Ross talked about the title and apologized for being quiet and not saying much. They said that the game will be getting updated and fixed and not only that but it will be getting the Xbox One X treatment as well. This is scheduled to be released in 2018.
Talking about it a bit more Bonnie Ross said that they want to have a better dialogue with their fans even if some of the things they have in mind aren’t fully thought out yet. They will be working with an external team on the update for the game but they also want to involve fans in some way in regards to fixing it.
Time will tell if this update will finally fix the Master Chief Collection but there is hope for those who are still waiting. Let us know in the comments if you’re excited for any of this news.
