God of War (Releases on April 20th, 2018)
One of the most anticipated games of 2018 is God of War. The new God of War was first introduced at 2016’s E3 conference with a gameplay demo. We were introduced to Kratos and his son as they were hunting. Since that time we came to learn Kratos is going up against the Norse gods after going up against the Greek gods. The trailers and gameplay videos that have been released so far shows the latest installment in this God of War series is really interesting and a highly anticipated game of 2018. God of War comes out April 20th, 2018.
Detroit Becomes Human (Releases on May 25th, 2018)
Detroit Becomes Human is another anticipated game in 2018. From the same people who created Beyond Two Souls and Heavy Rain comes this new game where your choices affect the game. The game follows three androids, Kara, who escapes from the factory, Connor, who is like an android bounty hunter, and Markus, who tries to help free other androids from servitude. The game was first announced at 2015’s Paris Games Week and was shown at 2016 and 2017’s E3 conferences. The trailers for Detroit Becomes Human have shown the different characters that would be playable in the game as well as the gameplay which is similar to Beyond Two Souls and Heavy Rain. Detroit is on top of my list for one of the most anticipated games this year and from the trailers, it appears that it would not disappoint. Detroit Becomes Human becomes available on May 25th, 2018.
Spider-Man (2018 Release)
The new Spider-Man game is set to come out later on this year around June or July (or later). The game is set to tell a new story of Spider-Man that is not apart of the movies, comics, or other video games. It’s set in an open world modern day New York City where you get to play as Peter Parker, a 23-year-old intern at a lab while still in college. He has been Spider-Man for eight years already. This game is definitely an anticipated game for any fan of the Spider-Man series. Look for it later this year!
The Last of US Part 2 (TBA release)
It has not been confirmed but this game has definitely been rumored to come out later this year towards the end of the year. The Last of Us Part 2 has been on almost everyone’s most anticipated games since the announcement of the game was released. Everyone has been wondering what has happened to Ellie and Joel after the end of The Last of Us and hopefully we get to find out what Naughty Dog has in store for us with this game. Since it’s announcement, not much has been said about the game, which makes it even more highly anticipated since we don’t know a lot about the upcoming game. So hopefully The Last of Us Part 2 will be out later on this year!
Final Fantasy VII Remake (TBA Release)
This is another game that has not been confirmed for 2018 but is rumored for a 2018 release and is another anticipated game. Final Fantasy VII has been one of the most popular Final Fantasy games in the series. The game is going to retell the story of Cloud and his group of mercenaries to fight against the Shinra corporation and the gameplay is set to be a mixture of Dissidia Final Fantasy and strategic elements. Be on the lookout for this remake of this classic game later this year!
