Sly Cooper Animated Series Coming October 2019

Out of nowhere on what is a pretty quiet Saturday we have learned that Sly Cooper is apparently getting a animated show next year.

Over on the PGS website we found details on this show that is being produced by Sony Interactive Entertainment and Technicolot Animation Productions. The series is targeted at 6-10 year olds and is listed as a comedy/adventure show. The show is apparently set to be 52 episodes in total with each running for 11 minutes. The season will be split up with the first 26 episodes starting to air in October 2019 and the next 26 to air starting July 2020. No media partners have been named yet for the show to air on but hopefully we’ll hear more soon. You can read the synopsis below.

Sly Cooper follows the adventures of an irresistibly charismatic raccoon, a modern-day Robin Hood, who restores justice to his city one theft at a time. Mixing humor, action, and a remarkable cast of characters, Sly Cooper promises to be an unforgettable series.
Now if you remember several years back Sony announced they were making a Sly Cooper movie and even released a trailer for it. Since then the movie went quiet and many thought that the poor reception to the Ratchet & Clank movie led to it being cancelled. However it seems that Sony has instead decided to turn it into a series which probably isn’t a bad idea. One also has to wonder if perhaps a new game could be in the works as well? Time will tell all I suppose. Let us know in the comments what you think of a animated Sly Cooper show.
