If you’ve been wondering whether PlayStation Experience would be taking place again in 2018 then we have an update for you.
PlayStation Worldwide Studios Chairman Shawn Layden, confirmed on this weeks episode of the PlayStation Blogcast that PlayStation Experience would not be taking place in 2018. Here is what he had to say:
“Now that we have Spiderman out the door, we’re looking down in 2019 to games like Dreams and Days Gone but we wouldn’t have enough to bring people altogether in some location in North America to have that event. We don’t want to set expectations really high and then not deliver on it.”
So it seems the main reason is that they didn’t have enough new content to show this year to get people excited for so they opted to not host it in 2018. This is no doubt in response to last year’s event when there wasn’t the traditional conference. This doesn’t mean the event won’t return in future years but for this year the show won’t go on.
