The weekly retail sales charts for the UK are in and we have a returning champion debuting as the best selling game this week. Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 debuted in the No.1 spot this week just like it did when it launched on the original PlayStation over 20 years ago.
It’s Capcom’s biggest UK launch since Resident Evil 7 back in 2017. Resident Evil 2’s sales were around 18% lower than Resident Evil 7’s but this is a remake and not a full new game after all. The game sold best on the PlayStation 4 in the UK with 74% of sales happening on Sony’s platform.
Some other recently released titles dropped a few spots this past week such as New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe. The game had held the No.1 spot since it launched two weeks ago but dropped to No.4 this week. Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown also saw sales drop about half which dropped it from No.2 to No.6 this week.
We have another big game launch this upcoming week in Kingdom Hearts 3 so it will be interesting to see where things end up in the next charts. Read below for the full top 10 selling game this past week.
