We heard a rumor not long ago that Borderlands 2 might be getting a new downloadable content pack soon and we now appear to have confirmation of that.
A listing for a new Borderlands 2 DLC called Commander Lilith & The Fight for Sanctuary appeared on Steam earlier before being pulled. It has a release date of June 9 which is this upcoming Sunday which means it will likely be announced during the Xbox E3 Event alongside some new Borderlands 3 information. The content will be free to download and I assume it will only be on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. I would be very surprised if it comes to Borderlands 2 VR or the last generation versions at this point.
Here is the official description for the new content:
Return to the award winning shooter-looter for a new adventure that sets the stage for the upcoming Borderlands 3. Sanctuary is under siege, the Vault’s map has been stolen and a toxic gas is poisoning Pandora. Fight new bosses, explore new zones, get new loot (including an entirely new tier beyond Legendary) and join up with Lilith and the Crimson Raiders to take on a deranged villain hell-bent on ruling the planet
Returning players can pursue an increased level cap of 80, while newcomers can automatically boost to level 30 and dive straight into the action.
If you don’t own the game yet make sure to grab Borderlands: The Handsome Collection for free right now on PS4 via PlayStation Plus. You can see some screenshots from the new content below.
