Nintendo has announced this morning that they will be releasing an updated original Nintendo Switch model this year that comes with a huge increase to its battery life.
This new model (HAC-001(-01)) will last from 4.5 to 9 hours. A game like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild should last for 5.5 hours when played on this updated model. The original Switch model (HAC-001) lasts around 2.5-6.5 hours and around 3 hours when playing Breath of the Wild. So the updated model will give you around 2-3 hours more of battery life compared to the original which is pretty substantial.
This new model will go on sale in late August in Japan, Mid-August in the US, and early September in Europe.
