During Gamescom 2019 Opening Night Live, Kojima Productions and Hideo Kojima revealed three brand new trailers for the upcoming PlayStation 4 game Death Stranding.
The first trailer introduces the character named Mama who is played by actress Margaret Qualley. Her story is that her baby was born on the “other side” rather than in her world, and they are connected only by umbilical cord. She cannot leave her location because that is where her baby exists on the other side. Check her trailer out below.
The second trailer focuses on the character Deadman who is portrayed but not voice performed by Guillermo del Toro. Dead Man explains to Sam about the BB (Bridge Baby) Pod and how it is connect to the world of the dead. This enables the connection between the BB and Sam and gives him the ability to sense BTs. Part of the gameplay is that players have to travel with the Bridge Baby and build a connection with it.
The final trailer is a look at the gameplay of the game and this is where things get kind of weird. We see things here like Sam sleeping, peeing on the grass and causing a mushroom to grow from it, completing a delivery mission and meeting a character who is portrayed by Geoff Keighley. You also get to see the Bridge Baby get upset and the playing having to rock it by using the motion sensors in the Dualshock 4.
Kojima says he will reveal much more of Death Stranding’s gameplay at Tokyo Game Show 2019 next month. Death Stranding releases on PlayStation 4 on November 8.
