UK Weekly Retail Video Game Sales Chart: Four Brand New IP Lead the Way

The weekly UK retail video game sales chart is in for last week and we had four brand new IP take the top four spots.

Leading the way was Astral Chain for the Nintendo Switch from Nintendo and Platinum Games. This is the first game from Platinum to ever top the UK charts and is the studio’s fourth most successful launch. It was also their second biggest new IP launch trailing only Bayonetta which released in January 2010.

Following right behind Astral Chain was the demolition derby game Wreckfest from THQ Nordic and Bugbear Interactive. No.3 for the week was The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan from Bandai Namco and Supermassive Games which sold just 250 copies less than Wreckfest.

Control from 505 Games and Remedy was the fourth brand new IP this week and took the No.4 spot selling just 300 units less than Man of Medan. The rest of the top ten consists of titles that have been largely sticking around in the charts. You can view the full top ten below.
