Sega has announced that Sonic the Hedgehog will be an unlockable playable character in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD when it launches later this month.
The game will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on October 29 and for PC later this winter. Once you unlock Sonic, playing as him automatically changes all of the bananas in the stages to rings instead and even has that classic ring sound effect. There will also be other new costumes players can unlock while playing in addition to unlocking Sonic.
