Sony Announces Play At Home Initiative; Includes Free Games and a $10 Million Fund for Indie Developers

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced today that they will be launching their Play At Home Initiative starting April 15.

President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Jim Ryan, wrote over on the PlayStation Blog about what this initiative includes. To help people who are currently at home due to COVID-19, Sony will be giving all PlayStation 4 owners access to two free games.

Those games are Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey. Both will be free for everyone to download from April 15 to May 5.

The other part of the initiative is that Sony will be offering a $10 million fund for independent developers who are having hardships and financial struggles during these times.

It’s a great thing to see for those developers for sure and everyone else will get to enjoy two (or rather four) great games for free.
