If you go to the Global Top Sellers list on Steam right now, you’ll find Sea of Thieves in the top spot, previously exclusive to Xbox and Windows 10’s store, with Ori and the Will of the Wisps not far below.
Scroll down, and you’ll see Ori and the Blind Forest and Halo: The Master Chief Collection are also pretty high up on the list.
Xbox has come under fire in recent years for putting their first party titles on PC and thus starting a trend of branding them “console exclusives” rather than “Xbox exclusives”. But Xbox Game Studios has been proving that this has been a great move and could bring in a lot of additional revenue.
These games have already been up for purchase on their own Microsoft Store, but this list clearly shows the powerhouse that is Steam shouldn’t be ignored: it’s still the go-to platform for the majority of PC players.
While there is no doubt that Xbox will continue this trend with its in-house titles, we’ve also got confirmation that Playstation is bringing Horizon: Zero Dawn over to PC, with a few titles rumoured to follow. We’re looking at a bright future for PC players, where they’ll get to enjoy some of the best titles the consoles have to offer.
