Many people are still wondering if Sony will offer a Smart Delivery option for PlayStation 5 games like Microsoft is offering on Xbox Series X. While no official announcement has been made we now know at least one game that will be offering PlayStation players a free upgrade.
A PlayStation Store listing for Madden NFL 21 has revealed that PlayStation 4 players who purchase Madden NFL 21 before Madden NFL 22 releases will get a free upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version. This is the same deal that has already been announced for those who purchase it on Xbox One.

It’s probably safe to assume that Sony will likely leave it up to third parties on whether they want to let people who buy a PlayStation 4 version of their game upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version for free. We’ll have to wait to hear more from other publishers in the weeks and months ahead.
