Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Insomniac Games have released more details about the upcoming PlayStation 5 game Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
In a PlayStation Blog post, Insomniac Games creative director Brian Horton tells us more about what to expect from the game. It will be a standalone game with a full story arc following Miles and will be comparable in scope to something like Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
Miles will have new powers and traversal abilities that set him apart from Peter. The game takes place one year after the last game and is set just before Christmas break in a wintery New York City. The game will take full advantage of the PlayStation 5 and will feature “near-instant loading, ray-tracing, and 3D audio.” It will also make use of the DualSense controller features. Characters will have 4D scans and improved skin shading while many of the cities assets have been updated to take advantage of the PlayStation 5’s power.
Insomniac also says don’t be worried about Peter Parker from the first game as they still have much more of Peter’s story to tell but this game is all about Miles. Expect to play it this holiday on PlayStation 5.
