Six More PlayStation 4 Games Found that Aren’t Backwards Compatible on PlayStation 5

Most of us with large game libraries on the PlayStation 4 were glad to find out that the majority of the PlayStation 4 games were backwards compatible on PlayStation 5. According to a page from Sony, only ten games in total didn’t work on their new console. Well I’ve now found six more that are only compatible with the PlayStation 4.

11/17/20 UPDATE: All six games have now been fixed and are backwards compatible on PlayStation 5. You can read the original story below.

Going through my library on the PlayStation 5, the following six titles all gave me a message that they only work on PlayStation 4.

·  Pool Nation

·  Tower of Time

·  The Gardens Between

·  PixelBOT EXTREME! (EDIT: This one seems to have been fixed by the developer after being notified)

·  YIIK: A Postmodern RPG

·  Golem (PSVR)

I looked up the PlayStation Store pages for all six afterwards and there is also a message on each of them that says “PS4 Only.”

Most of these games are smaller titles but there are some good ones that are worth playing listed there. I’ve reached out to a few of the developers to ask if there is any plan to update them to make them work on PlayStation 5. So far, I’ve heard back from the developer of pixelBOT EXTREME who said that their game was supposed to work and they were going to look into it.

For now, they join the other ten titles below that don’t work on PlayStation 5.

  • DWVR (PSVR)
  • Afro Samurai 2 Revenge of Kuma Volume One
  • TT Isle of Man – Ride on the Edge 2
  • Just Deal With It!
  • Shadow Complex Remastered
  • Robinson: The Journey (PSVR)
  • We Sing
  • Hitman Go: Definitive Edition
  • Shadwen
  • Joe’s Diner
