Publisher Deep Silver and developer 4A Games have shared some exciting news today related to their popular Metro franchise.
The first bit of news is that Metro Exodus is coming to both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series in 2021. These new versions of the game will come with some big enhancements such as increased resolution, higher frame rates, faster loading times, and ray tracing support. Even better is that anyone who already owns the game on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will get a free upgrade to the new versions whether they own the game digitally or on disc.
The next bit of news is that the studio has started work on the next Metro game which will also be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. The team is performing a complete overhaul of their 4A Games engine and renderer to take full advantage of the new power, storage, and ray tracing support that the new consoles offer.
The team is also exploring a multiplayer component for their next game and has decided to partner up with developer Saber Interactive for it. They promise their fans that they will still get a great single player experience and that they are just wanting to explore new possibilities as well with the multiplayer component.
