The weekly UK video game retail sales chart for last week is in and developer IO Interactive’s Hitman 3 was the big winner for the week.
The latest entry in the Hitman franchise took the No.1 spot in its debut week. Hitman 3 sales at retail were also up 17% over Hitman 2. The PlayStation 5 version sold the most with 49% of copies sold being on that platform while the Xbox version accounted for 27% and PS4 making up the final 25%. With the recent news that Hitman 3’s digital launch numbers were the biggest in franchise history it would seem that IO Interactive’s latest is doing quite well for them.
Outside of Hitman 3 there wasn’t a whole lot else to talk about in terms of new releases. Animal Crossing: New Horizons fell to the No.2 spot while Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales swung back into the top ten at the No.5 spot thanks to fresh stock of the PlayStation 5 arriving in the region last week. You can see the full top ten below.
