God of War Getting PlayStation 5 Update Tomorrow to Enable 4K Resolution at 60 Frames Per Second

God of War 2018 is one of the best games of the past console generation and it’s about to get even better for those who want to play it on PlayStation 5.

Santa Monica Studio announced today that they will be releasing a free update tomorrow that will add a new graphics mode to let PlayStation 5 players get the most out of the increased performance of the console.

On the PlayStation 4 Pro version, players had the option to play in a favor resolution mode or a favor performance mode. The new patch will replace these on PlayStation 5 with a new default setting that offers the best of both performance and resolution. Here is what you can expect:

  • 2160p*
  • 4K Checkerboard Resolution*
  • Syncs to 60 FPS

The studio says that players can go back to the original PlayStation 4 Favor Resolution mode at any time by selecting Original Performance Experience which is 4K Checkerboard Resolution at 30 FPS.

God of War 2018 is available to all PlayStation Plus members on PlayStation 5 via the PlayStation Plus Collection so if you’ve yet to play 2018’s Game of the Year there has never been a better time.
