MLB The Show 21 Launches on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One on April 20 with Cross-Play and Cross-Progression Support

Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer San Diego Studio have announced that MLB The Show 21 will launch on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One on April 20.

This is the first time the game has appeared on a platform besides PlayStation but we expected this after Sony announced that the franchise would be expanding to new platforms some time ago. The game will feature Fernando “El Nino” Tatis Jr. on the cover and will be priced at $59.99 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and $69.99 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. The standard edition will not feature a free upgrade but Sony teased that you’ll want to tune in Wednesday to learn about the other editions.

The game will also feature full cross-play and cross-save support letting players play together and progress across PlayStation and Xbox. You can read more about the game below.

MLB The Show 21 Feature Premieres

To keep everyone safe as we continue to adapt to the current global pandemic, we have had to make some changes to how we reveal and share all the new features and updates to the game. This year we will be rolling out Feature Premiere, which will be broadcasting simultaneously across Twitch, YouTube and Facebook Live. The Feature Premieres will be a great opportunity for us to show our fans what we have been working on that makes this year’s game better than its predecessor. For MLB The Show 21, we plan on posting around six Feature Premieres with the first one being released in March.
